Requesting Canvas Access

Information for people who need to access Canvas LMS at BYU but do not have an account

General Instructions and Info:

Canvas LMS accounts are available to:

  • BYU teachers and students using Canvas in official classes, as listed in the AIM catalog
  • BYU teachers exploring Canvas LMS for possible instructional use
  • BYU staff, students and guests using Canvas for instructional content, professional development, university workshops, or other official university programs
  • Vendors, partners and others whose duties / business requires Canvas access, as authorized by BYU Office of Information Technology.

A BYU account, with a BYU Net ID, is required to access Canvas.

Note to Students: Normally, students in classes using Canvas LMS do not need to request access: You will receive access automatically through your enrollment in the class's AIM roster. Students who are lacking Canvas access to classes that are confirmed to be using Canvas LMS should proceed to request access using the link below.
