Design Tools Add-on for Canvas LMS

Design Tools, a Canvas LMS add-on used for building courses and designing and managing content within them, has been made available to all teachers in Canvas courses at BYU. The tool is useful for:

  • Adding appealing visual elements to course pages, such as images (including a catalog of BYU-themed elements), iconography, and page layouts and styling
  • Quickly building course modules (units) and module elements based on a standard unit structure
  • Checking course elements for adherence to accessibility guidelines

While Design Tools is free and available to BYU Canvas teachers without restriction, training is required before access to the tool is granted.
